I dont have patience to hand piece. My daughter has made a huge king size quilt, by hand. She introduced me to quilting, when she came back to live with us for a year. I got hooked, & have been a quilter ever since. It is so nice to share our quilty ideas, but she is very busy these days, working & coping with Small Grandson, who is 4.
I am in a slump too, & every time I come in here to blog, I feel guilty! haha. My sewing room is this room, & it is a really untidy mess- in spite of me getting new drawers for my stash!
Great Quilt! I love the colors and fabric. I too was in a bad slump after my mom passed away. I just could not sew. I walked away from the mess for a few weeks. The only thing I did was read blogs and looked at at what other were doing. It helped. When the housecleaning fairy gets to your house send em my way.
Hi Angie, what a great little quilt! I love the different plaids. You did a great job on the piecing and the applique. I especially like that little 1" X 1" sq. in between the rectangles. I'll keep sniffing the wind for that bread baking! Hugs, Finn
I have made this one too SMILE And I love it so much. The book "Simple blessings" is one of my favorits and I have started to make another quilt from this book. I you look at my blog you will find photo of it somewhere (do not remember when I posted my photo) I made mine of friendship scraps. That means I and my friend is always sharing a bit of our fabrics when we buy new ones.
What an adorable quilt. I still haven't tried applique, perhaps one of these days.
Maybe you should set a timer for 15 minutes and go in your sewing room and clean. Just for 15 minutes. Perhaps a little cleaning will get you motivated to start quilting again.
I have never seen a quilt holder like that...what a nice way to hang a small quilt up!! Where did you get that? and yes that little quilt is just so very pretty!
I love that little quilt! I have that book also and have wanted to make something in there for the longest time. Her newest book is great also. Nice job!

Love the quilt and love the fabrics. You seem to have found the perfect spot to hang it--looks like it belongs there.
