January 27, 2026 Tuesday

"In an ever-changing, incomprehensible world the masses had reached the point where they would, at the same time, believe everything and nothing, think that everything was possible and nothing was true… The totalitarian mass leaders based their propaganda on the correct psychological assumption that, under such conditions, one could make people believe the most fantastic statements one day, and trust that if the next day they were given irrefutable proof of their falsehood, they would take refuge in cynicism; instead of deserting the leaders who had lied to them, they would protest that they had known all along that the statement was a lie and would admire the leaders for their superior tactical cleverness."

"The result of a consistent and total substitution of lies for factual truth is not that the lie will now be accepted as truth and truth be defamed as a lie, but that the sense by which we take our bearings in the real world—and the category of truth versus falsehood is among the mental means to this end—is being destroyed."

January 26, 2026.

To whoever still supports ICE (and Border Patrol):
We don’t have a difference in political opinion — We have a difference in morality.

I struggle to find the words for how I feel.  Enraged, broken-hearted, disgusted, disillusioned, hopeless.  I will be 70 soon.  I was born and raised here, and I admit, I never thought this day would come, but here we are.  How do we build back a better country, when that time comes, with  real freedom and inclusion and prosperity for all of us? History will remember, in spite of someone, possibly, in the future trying to erase it.   How do we move forward right now?

January 10, 2026.

"For Renee Nicole Good Killed by I.C.E. on January 7, 2026."

by Amanda Gorman

They say she is no more,
That there her absence roars,
Blood-blown like a rose.
Iced wheels flinched & froze.
Now, bare riot of candles,
Dark fury of flowers,
Pure howling of hymns.

If for us she arose,
Somewhere, in the pitched deep of our grief,
Crouches our power,
The howl where we begin,
Straining upon the edge of the crooked crater
Of the worst of what we’ve been.

Change is only possible,
& all the greater,
When the labour
& bitter anger of our neighbors
Is moved by the love
& better angels of our nature.

What they call death & void,
We know is breath & voice;
In the end, gorgeously,
Endures our enormity.

You could believe departed to be the dawn
When the blank night has so long stood.
But our bright-fled angels will never be fully gone,
When they forever are so fiercely Good.

January 2, 2026 Frosty Friday

😂. Me to a T!

❄️Winter is for rest.
🌷Spring is for beginnings.
Long before January resolutions, the spring equinox marked the New Year—a time when the light returned, the ground softened, and life actually started moving again. Winter wasn’t meant for hustling or reinventing yourself; it was for slowing down, restoring energy, and dreaming quietly beneath the surface. Then spring arrived, and new beginnings made sense. Honestly, that rhythm still feels deeply right. Wouldn’t you agree?  (These words belong to Irish Acres Homestead. )

January 1, 2026. May it be a Happier New Year than 2025

  New Year's Blessing

May this new year unfold with light and promise.

May your body feel strong, your mind feel clear

and your heart remain open to possibility.

May you awaken with purpose in your breath

and rest at night knowing you did enough.

May opportunity meet your effort,

patience walk beside ambition,

and challenges sharpen you

without ever hardening you.

May laughter arrive often and stay awhile.

May love, old and new, grow deeper, truer.

May you give freely without losing yourself,

and receive fully, without hesitation.

And when the road bends without warning,

may you trust the strength you’ve earned

and the wisdom you carry to guide you.

May this be a year of steady growth,

honest joy, and gentle courage,

a future that feels not only hopeful,

but open and welcoming too.

New Year's Eve December 31, 2025

New Year's Eve Morning, December 31, 2025

Morning, January 1, 2026

I rang the new year in from my bed, partying in New Orleans with Don Lemon and watched the ball drop in NYC.  I always have to watch----I don't know if it's to see the old year out or the new year in---or just to make sure I'm still here for another day on this crazy planet.  May this new year be a kinder, gentler breath of fresh air world-wide.
