Happy to be in good company and to share the joy of a fellow bird watcher. While I've been hearing a variety of song birds, including the Red-Winged Blackbird, I was super excited to SEE a Brown Creeper here in MN for the first time ever! :-D
Morning Angie, *VBS*, how wonderful to be awakened to bird song. Up here the robins are singing for rain, altho we've been getting plenty! They seem to say "keep those worms coming Mama!" Purple finches have found our feeders, but no gold finches as yet. Shivering this a.m. with temps cool enough for random snow flurries, and this coming on the heels of a 77!!!(YES, 77)degree day yesterday. Very crazy weather pattern. I'm off shortly to "house sit" for friends for a week. I'll try to check in, but who knows? Sending big hugs, Finn XXX
I haven't heard from you in a while and I was beginning to get worried. Are you ok, busy, doing good deeds, watching birds and pooches or totally transfixed and completely entranced? I'm overwhelmed and under the pile of fabrics, and things I've been asked to do by everyone who seems to know me! Life's challenges peaked lately as they do with all of us!
My hubby is the bird watcher in our family, loves, loves them. We have lots of bird books but by the time I see a new one and rush for a book, I've already forgotten what colors went where! Oh, I do wish someone would find my mind and remember where I keep it!
Well, now so that's why the comment box was in the wrong place. I replied to Finn's post and not yours. Hope she is healthy and happy house sitting! Hi Finn, Hi Angie ;)
I used to keep a bird feeder on our side yard. We had many red-winged black birds visit us! I had to borrow a bird book to figure out what they were. I still see them when I'm out and about, but no more in my yard. They dug up the field behind me, so they dont' have anyplace to hunt for bugs. I think they took the scorpions with them, so I'm NOT COMPLAINING! But I do miss seeing them and hearing their song! Love your pictures!
